With the loss of Mirco Antenucci being such a crucial one for Leeds United and possibly a new change in manager, the lack of consistency within the Elland Road ranks is once again surfacing its ugly head.

Antenucci is a creative genius in the Leeds department, which may sound extreme, but look at the chances he has been involved in this season, near 82% for a goal-stricken United squad.

His goals, assists and overall contribution to United will be a massive loss, and with ex-players at Leeds who have moved on and struggled to be replaced (Snodgrass, Gradel, Howson, Beckford, Becchio, Johnson), you would hope that whoever comes in is given the funds to spend money on the necessary talents.

If Leeds do want to rebuild in the striker department, the array of talent in League One is frightening and, if United are to challenge, this could be a superb avenue to venture down.

Sam Winnall

The now Barnsley veteran has been on Leeds' radar for a while now.

A host of goals has propelled Barnsley into a play-off position that has been cemented following a 4-1 victory at champions Wigan Athletic.

Winnall was one of Leeds' targets in early January, but owner Massimo Cellino was fended off by the price tag of the Barnsley starlet.

If the Tykes don't go up via the play-offs, Leeds and Winnall could be a match made as the striker has expressed his desire to play at a higher level before, and will be hoping that his Barnsley side can win the play-offs.

Winnall is amongst enquiry by many a club in the Championship.

His signature would provide undoubting goal threat, and a high convergence rate with 19 goals and seven assists proves that the Tykes frontman possesses a lot more than just goals.

William Grigg

Will Grigg- Scoring for MK Dons vs Man Utd

The Wigan man has easily been the best player in League One this season, and his prolific nature has pushed Wigan on another gear and given them the League One title.

24 goals and a host of assists, Grigg has become the number one hitman in the league as Wigan have cruised through this division.

League One's top scorer and a recent player of the month winner, Grigg looks to solidify himself as one of the Football League's best players by repeating the same feat in the Championship.

Grigg is the man on every clubs' lips at the minute, especially within the Championship.

He is capable on every level and has guided Wigan to the top of League One in staggering fashion. His goals have become a key feature of Wigan's season and Grigg, if approached, could have his head tilted if Leeds show serious ambition next season.

Lee Gregory

A now proven man in League One, Gregory has already announced and expressed his need to play in the Championship next season.

If Millwall don't reach this, this could see their top man leave the Den.

Gregory has been a key part of Millwall's play-off push this season with 17 goals and three assists. Not only this but possibly most impressively, Gregory has been involved in 34 goals created this season, not only the goal converter, but the goalscorer.

Leeds should consider Gregory.

His prowess in front of goal and ability to play on either the right or the left gives Millwall some versatility and choice up front.

Chris Wood is a target man, but if Gregory is able to do the running around Wood, not only would space be created for the wide men in Taylor, Berardi, Dallas etc, but Wood would be able to pick off the scraps and contend with a lot more chances that have been presented to him this season.

The lack of width in the forward areas is now apparent with the imminent departure of the favoured Italian Antenucci, but Gregory could make up for that very well, in abundance in fact.

Tom Bradshaw

Walsall's main man, Bradshaw boasts 16 goals this season and is seen as one of the hottest properties in League One football.

The young man (23) has been turning heads for a couple of seasons now, as his consistency and threat in the opposition's box really is frightening.

Whichever league the club will ply their trade in next season, it looks set to be a long summer for Walsall, who will undoubtedly try and fend off bids for Bradshaw. Yet, in this current form and with the high demand, they will most likely fail.

Bradshaw has been mentioned in a lot of discussions around the Championship, but Leeds haven't really covered the striker. His ability is easily the best fitted for Leeds. He covers ground, makes goals and more importantly converts them.

He is exceedingly quick and would be a perfect match in a 4-4-2 formation alongside the target man Wood. The Kiwi can provide the flick-ons and aerial threat, but Leeds' lack of pace upfront has been a key issue since the departure of Jermaine Beckford.

Bradshaw brings personality off the field too. He is a big character and someone Leeds desperately need in the changing room. Highlighted by a conflict in who took the penalty yesterday against Preston in a 1-1 draw, a divide in the camp was evident, with some players celebrating with the fans and team, and others just walking away.

Leeds need change on and off the pitch, inside and outside the changing room, and Bradshaw could bring Leeds a step closer to this.

Adam Armstrong

Not technically a League One product but Armstrong is a player who caused carnage for any team who came up against his Coventry side. 19 goals and five assists prior to Armstrong going off the boil earlier on this month.

The 19-year-old has played over 2250 minutes and has a goal scored every 170 minutes, which is prolific as a young 19-year-old lad. One thing Armstrong does possess is bags of pace, power and versatility (he's able to play anywhere in a top three formation).

The ability of Armstrong is frightening at this level. His capabilities in the opposition box is of someone way beyond his years, and is someone that Leeds should definitely take a look at.
