Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has a proven track record of taking young players, and turning them into established first-team regulars at one of Europe's top football clubs.

He has been reluctant in previous years to dip into the world of Championship football for his new recruits, but after admitting the Sheffield Wednesday side that knocked them out of the Capital One Cup had given him a shock, he could start taking more notice of some of the talent in the second tier.

Whilst the club have a serious chance of being crowned Premier League Champions this season, it is unlikely he will opt for any Football League talent during the next transfer window.

Demarai Gray

Premier League interest in the 19-year-old is set to increase over the coming weeks, as the January transfer window looms large, with Arsenal keen on the youngster.

An international with the England Under-20's team, Gray has pace to burn and is technically very gifted.

If one Premier League boss can get the best from Gray over the next few years, it is Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is renowned for developing younger players.

Tom Ince

Ince was tipped for a bright future in English football when he first joined Liverpool's youth team as a youngster.

Things haven't quite gone according to plan for the 23-year-old, and after making a name for himself at Blackpool, he has now landed at Derby County and is assisting them with their promotion bid.

Arsenal would welcome a player with the talent of Ince as he can glide past players with ease, and he also has a goal or two in his locker.

Ola John

The 23-year-old forward is currently on loan at Reading from Portuguese side Benfica, and in his four appearances for the Royals has looked a bright prospect.

John looks set for a bright career in the game and a move to Arsenal would be good for his development.

The youngster possesses one cap for the Netherlands national team and can play either out wide or as an out-and-out striker, which means he would slot into a variety of roles within Arsenal's fluid midfield.

Sam Clucas

Another bright young talent to emerge from the Championship this season is Hull City youngster Sam Clucas.

The 25-year-old was signed by the Tigers from Chesterfield after he helped the Derbyshire-based club to the League One play-offs last season.

He hasn't looked back since his move and has been in typically energetic form as the Tigers have risen to the top of the Championship.

Looks set to play Premier League football at some point in his career and could act as an alternative to Theo Walcott.

Sam Byram

Not strictly speaking an out-and-out winger but the Leeds United youngster has been deployed as a right-sided forward on occasions during this season.

More naturally a right-back, Byram's time at Leeds is seemingly coming to an end due to his reluctance to sign a new deal with the club.

Arsenal have expressed an interest in the youngster previously, and could make a move as early as January for the sought-after player.
