If you're a Birmingham City fan right now, it's safe to say you've had a pretty good start to this Championship season.

A decent 1-1 draw away at Queens Park Rangers this weekend means that the Blues have only lost once so far this campaign, with a total of four wins and four draws. You could only begin to imagine where they'd be if they had been able to turn some blanks into wins but regardless, it's been a good start to the campaign.

And on Tuesday evening they face a Preston North End side that will be buoyed following a hard-fought 1-0 home win against Wigan Athletic on Friday evening. In front of the Sky cameras, Simon Grayson's side slugged their way to a vital win and they'll want to follow that up with some success against Birmingham.

But sitting sixth in the table is no mean feat, and we're expecting Gary Rowett's side to go on and win the game at St Andrews.

And here's the team we think will bring them success...

GK: Adam Legzdins

Now in his second spell with Blues, Adam Legzdins has done a decent job in the first-team after an injury to regular number one Tomasz Kuszczak.

He saved well a couple of times in the game at Loftus Road, and will definitely have given Gary Rowett food for thought, especially when Kuszczak returns.

RB: Jonathan Spector

Jonathan Spectord

Veteran American international Jonathan Spector has been a real mainstay in this Birmingham City side this season, after regular right-back Paul Caddis dropped out of the side due to fitness issues.

His experience is invaluable and whilst he may not be a makeshift centre-back, he's been solid enough over the past few weeks and deserves to keep his place in the side.

CB: Michael Morrison

morrison33

Captain Michael Morrison has been one of the signings of the past few years and his strength, character and leadership have all been superb this season.

The former Huddersfield man knows the league like the back of his hand after time with Charlton and Huddersfield, and alongside Ryan Shotton, they've kept things pretty tight at the back so far this campaign.

A really important player for Birmingham going forward.

CB: Ryan Shotton

Had his first wobble of the season against QPR, losing his man as Steven Caulker scored for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side.

But otherwise he's been very good, putting poor spells at Derby County and Stoke City behind him.

Looks really at home next to Michael Morrison and if the pair can stay fit and in-form, they will vital as Blues aim to keep pace at the top of the division.

LB: Jonathan Grounds

grounds3

Loanee Rhoys Wiggins is edging closer to first-team fitness but in the meanwhile, regular starter Jonathan Grounds is having a pretty good run of form.

Criticised in the past by Birmingham fans, the former Oldham man has been reasonably solid on the left-hand side and whilst he doesn't offer that rampaging attacking threat of most modern-day defenders, he's a safe option in the defence.

CDM: David Davis

davisss

Has been fantastic so far this season and it's great to see the Wolves man enjoying his football again.

Had a tricky spell towards the end of last season where he fell out of the first-team fold but looks at home at the heart of the Birmingham midfield this time out.

CDM: Maikel Kieftenbeld

Kieftenbeld

Former Gronigen man Maikel Kieftenbeld is as good a Championship midfielder as you'll ever find.

The Dutchman is scrappy, loves to get stuck in and on his day, contributes goals to the squad too.

Will be looking to break up Preston's play in the middle of the park after their win against Wigan, so expect him to do all the running on Tuesday evening.

LM: Greg Stewart

greg stewart

Former Dundee man Greg Stewart has been really knocking on the door over the past couple of games.

He turned out a fantastic substitutes performance in the win over Sheffield Wednesday last weekend and his pace, skill and willingness to get forward was clear at QPR too.

Hasn't started a league game yet this season but we'd love Gary Rowett to go all out against a Preston side that a really there for the taking.

CAM: Che Adams

Che AdamsChe Adamsmmmjsjss

Summer signing Che Adams has taken no time at all settling in at St Andrews, and very much looks like a big player going forward for Gary Rowett and his coaches.

Can play in behind the striker or out wide, but we'd like to see him getting close to the centre-forward, and really help out as Blues press forward.

Has bags of pace and is full of running too.

RM: Jacques Maghoma

jacques maghoma

A shout for player of the season so far, former Burton Albion man Jacques Maghoma is having a really good season.

He's a frighteningly quick winger whose delivery into the box has been crucial for Clayton Donaldson.

More goals would be nice but if he continues his good form, he'll be an extremely difficult player to drop from the side.

ST: Lukas Jutkiewicz

Lukas Jutkiewicz

It's great to see Burnley loanee Lukas Jutkiewicz back in the goals after a tough couple of years.

He's had his fair share of injury and form issues but scored his second in two outings against Queens Park Rangers this weekend.

He's a burly, no-nonsense striker who in a sense, very much offers what Clayton Donaldson does. But his hold-up play is fantastic and we've seen him distribute the play wide many times already this season.

A great player to have in the squad.
