West Brom remain two points clear at the top of the Championship after a hard-fought 1-0 win at Hull City on Saturday.

Whilst Albion weren't at their free-flowing best in the final third, they did enough to pick up the points with Jake Livermore's outstanding first half goal against his old club enough to seal the points.

After that, some strong defending, combined with good goalkeeping from Sam Johnstone, ensured the Baggies kept another clean sheet on the road to make it six games unbeaten.

Here we look at THREE things we clearly learnt about Slaven Bilic's side following their latest win...

The goals can come from anywhere

Very few people would have backed Livermore to open the scoring on Saturday but that's exactly what the midfielder did with his fine drive from outside the box.

The fact Albion's strikers aren't really performing has to be a worry but the rest of the team have stepped up big time.

They are the second top scorers in the league and they have goals from all over the team which means they are always a threat.

They are finding the right formula away from home

Bilic's men are unbeaten at The Hawthorns but they actually have a better points per game on the road this season.

They have won four of their last five away from home, keeping clean sheets in all those victories too. After a tough start where they were shipping a lot of goals, the side are very resolute now on their travels and that bodes very well moving forward.

The win came at a cost

It wasn't all good news for the Baggies on Saturday though, with the win coming at a cost.

Midfield duo Livermore and Romaine Sawyers both picked up their fifth bookings of the season and they will now miss the home game against Sheffield Wednesday after the international break.

It's a real blow for Bilic as the pair have been superb this season, particularly the ex-Brentford man who pulls the strings in the middle of the park.
