Under Garry Monk so far this season Leeds United have become promotion contenders sitting in 5th place in the league only one point off third place at the time of writing.

Boosted by the news of Andrea Radrizzani securing the purchase of his 50 per cent stake at the club, the Whites finally have something to shout about after a few torrid seasons for the club under other owner Massimo Cellino and a number of different managers.

The arrival of Radrizzani also means that Garry Monk could have funds available to improve some areas in his squad to help their push for promotion.

A few more players with some quality could be the last piece of the jigsaw for Monk and his side to them securing a place in the playoffs.

So, here are THREE signings that Leeds should make next week to secure a Championship playoff spot...

Sergi Canos

Since his arrival at Carrow Road in the summer Canos has failed to make an impact with Norwich City this season.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Elland Road with reports suggesting that Garry Monk is keen to make a move for the winger to help boost his squad.

Leeds already have a number of talented forward men and signing Canos would only improve this.

Patrick Bamford

Bamford's next move needs to be right after a number of torrid loan spells in the Premier League where he has failed to impress time after time.

During his time in the Championship with both Derby and Middlesbrough, the Chelsea forward was excellent and played a key part in both their promotion pushes scoring a number of important goals.

The 23-year-old needs to re-discover this form and if he can then Leeds will be an ideal destination for him.

Pontus Jansson

If Garry Monk can secure a permanent deal for the Swedish centre half then it will be their most important signing of the season without a doubt.

On loan from Torino, Jansson has been exceptional in a White shirt this season and key to their success and defensive resilience.

Leeds were free to sign the 25-year-old after playing 22 games which he was expected to complete on Monday night against Cambridge, but after picking up a tenth yellow card of the season it means he can't play until the end of the January increasing the risk of a Premier League club hijacking a move for him.

Passionate, strong and determined to win, Leeds must keep hold of Jansson if they want to secure a playoff position.
