Manchester United youngster Sean Goss is edging closer towards a move to QPR after a bid was accepted on Monday afternoon and a medical expected to take place.

The 21-year-old left-back, who can also play in the middle of the park, has never made an appearance for the Red Devils and his long-term future at Old Trafford was looking bleak.

But for QPR, a deal for the former Exeter City man could prove to be a real coup, with plenty of United fans rating the German-born defender highly, despite his struggles to get first team minutes this campaign.

And here at the Football League World, we think he could prove to be another important player as QPR manager Ian Holloway looks to turn fortunes around at Loftus Road going forward.

So with that in mind, here's 3 reasons why the unwanted United man can be a real hit for Queens Park Rangers this season...

Age

At just 21-years-old, it's pretty clear that Goss has plenty of time to reach his full potential and the sort of talent United saw in him when he signed for the club from Exeter City.

We've seen plenty of late bloomers down the years - one can look to the likes of Dimitri Payet for that sort of evidence, but at just 21, Goss has plenty of time to settle and really find his best form at Loftus Road.

Shaken off his injuries

After suffering a serious back injury last season, it's good to see Sean Goss back on the pitch and enjoying his football again injury-free.

The left back spent much of last season on the sidelines and while many of his academy colleagues were given chances in the United first team under former manager Louis van Gaal, he was recuperating from injury.

But with that now behind him and a move to QPR edging closer, the future is looking bright for Goss as he aims to get back to his best.

Compared to the best

By simply typing his name into any United forum online, you can see how highly some Red Devils fans rate Sean Goss.

He's drawn comparisons to a young Paul Scholes, with some likening him to Michael Carrick in more recent weeks, which is excellent news for QPR.

The Hoops are on the up having taken ten points from twelve and this looks to be a piece of inspired business from manager Ian Holloway.
