It's hard to tell whether Aston Villa fans will be disappointed with the club's performance this season, given the dire season in the Premier League last year.

A few pundits tipped the club for double relegation, but the Villans currently sit in 13th place under Steve Bruce, with constant murmurings of a push onwards to the play offs.

However this dream seems more and more unrealistic each week, a perfect example given last weekend as Villa collapsed from 2-0 up to draw 2-2 with Preston.

They have spent a lot of money revamping their squad, one of the biggest signings coming in the form of Ross McCormack.

But it hasn't gone as planned at all for the 30-year-old, who reportedly had a bust up with manager Steve Bruce outside his home last week.

Here are THREE reasons why McCormack should be axed by Villa immediately.....

Missing training

Anyone in football will tell you that it's a very, very dangerous sign when a player starts missing training, and this is supposedly what McCormack has been doing over the last few weeks.

Evidently frustrated by his performances, McCormack told his manager that he couldn't make training because the gates of his house weren't working, leading to Steve Bruce jumping over his fence to prove he could still get a taxi.

If he's making silly excuses not to turn up than it's fairly obvious that he doesn't want to be there, and Villa should move him on as soon as possible.

Poor form

McCormack has probably not been showing up because he's regularly on the bench, and that's because he's in a wretched vein of form this year.

The usually reliable goalscorer McCormack has only managed three goals in 20 appearances for the club this year, and given that he managed 38 in the last two seasons, he's been a bit of a disappointment.

Even if Villa didn't have the issue of not turning up, they may have been planning to move him on anyway, as he just hasn't managed to find his feet in the midlands.

Plenty of suitors

There are already reports of McCormack's former club Fulham lining up a loan move for their former star, and they would surely just be one of a number of clubs interested.

The former Leeds man has racked up a mind boggling 66 goals in his last three seasons, all in the Championship, proving that he can certainly do it at this level, even if it hasn't worked out at Villa.

Every club is usually looking for a striker, so if Villa want to sell he'd probably be very easy to offload.
