Huddersfield Town are in the hat for the FA Cup quarter final draw after drawing with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City this weekend and there isn't a supporter in the country that will deny the Terriers deserved at least a replay.

David Wagner's second-string side more than matched a City team full of stars and they will be gearing up for the replay at the Etihad Stadium that they know more than anyone, they have a chance of winning.

City offered a laboured performance against the Championship high-flyers and in the end, it was perhaps the Premier League side that will be more glad the game went to a replay.

But with Huddersfield going well in both the league and the cup, there's absolutely no reason why promotion and cup glory isn't the silliest of suggestions for the Terriers come the end of the season.

So with that in mind, here's three reasons that suggest Huddersfield Town are ready for the Premier League after their draw with Manchester City.

Manchester City's stars couldn't break through

Considering the side that City fielded during this FA Cup tie, you can tell that the competition means an awful lot to Pep Guardiola, whose chances of winning the league title are getting slimmer by the week.

Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones and a whole host of City's biggest stars featured at some point another but couldn't break through a Huddersfield side that looked resolved, collected and calm throughout.

If they were to get into the Premier League, results and experiences just like these ones would stand them in very good stead indeed.

Wagner has made his Terriers fearless

Despite the difference in quality and pedigree between these two sides, German manager David Wagner has turned his team into a collective group of fighters and players that are seriously up for a battle.

It would have been so easy for Huddersfield to bottle it on an occasion just like this but they stood their ground and thanks to some fantastic performances all over the pitch, they got their much-deserved replay.

Three players looked a step above

Dean Whitehead, Phillip Billing and Collin Quaner were all fantastic against City and should promotion be achieved come the end of the campaign, these are certainly three players that can help the team in the top flight next season.

Quaner is slowly but surely getting up to speed whilst the experience that Dean Whitehead offers is invaluable at both this level and higher.

Things are looking very good indeed at the John Smiths Stadium.
