Fulham have one of the best squads in the Championship on paper, which makes it all the more baffling that they struggled last season.

They possess two of the most lethal strikers in the division with Ross McCormack and young French starlet Moussa Dembele scoring 40 goals between them.

The deadliest partnership in the Football League did not spearhead a promotion challenge though, with it instead proving crucial in keeping Fulham up, who finished 20th with their terrible defence being a major downfall last season.

McCormack was nominated for Championship Player of the Year and Dembele for the Young Player of the Year, and are both attracting Premier League interest so under Slavisa Jokanovic they will need to add some depth.

But their defence leaked a huge 79 goals and will need a lot of strengthening if they are to challenge for promotion next season.

Here are THREE PL wonder kids that would excel at the Cottage.....

Michael Hector

The 23- year-old Englishman was given his dream move when he moved from Reading to Chelsea on deadline day a year ago.

He was a signing of Jose Mourinho, who was sacked after Chelsea's poor start to the season but Hector was immediately loaned back to Reading as it was unlikely he would get any game time at Chelsea.

He played 26 times maturing nicely and is also a regular starter for Jamaica.

Chelsea is close to Fulham and if he is to continue his development then Fulham would be an ideal location with Fulham desperate to strengthen their defence, and with Hector experienced in Championship football.

Dominic Solanke

With the potential of Fulham losing Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack they desperately need to add some strikers.

Chelsea are battling it out with Arsenal for Dembele who scored 17 goals last season and was nominated for Football League Young Player of the Year, whilst McCormack has been linked to a Premier League move for years.

Solanke is 18 playing a big part in the England setup currently playing for the U21 side and has a good loan spell at Vitesse Arnhem last season, where he scored 7 goals and he may want to try his luck in the English leagues to make his breakthrough, rather like fellow Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford did at Middlesbrough, winning Championship Player of the Year for firing them to the play-off final.

Jason Denayer

The 20- year-old Belgian centre back is one of the biggest young talents in the Premier League already, having very successful loan spells at Celtic and Galatasaray.

With Guardiola coming in at City he is likely to invest in the shaky defence with Mangala and Demechelis inconsistent.

He is likely to splash the cash on John Stones meaning Denayer will likely go out on loan again next season.

He won Young Scottish Premiership Player of the Year when at Celtic and made Team of the Year before impressing at Galatasaray this season, he would be a massive coup for Fulham.
