The dust is still settling at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium today after it was announced that Nahki Wells had been recalled from his loan spell at QPR by parent club Burnley.

The departure of the 13 goal striker will no doubt have a big effect on morale within the Rangers squad, with Wells having made a huge impact for the team since embarking on his second successive season at the west London club.

Much of Mark Warburton's side's best football has been played with the combination of Wells and Jordan Hugill up top for the R's, with their early season performances seeing the club into play-off contention.

However since then the west Londoners have dropped down to 14th after a series of inconsistent performances, thus putting their play-off hopes at risk.

The departure of Wells should in theory allow a host of other players to now come to the fore and shoulder more of the collective goal scoring responsibility as we head into the second half of the campaign.

Here, we take a look at THREE players who could benefit at QPR following the departure of Nahki Wells....

Jan Mlakar

The 21-year-old forward has found his game time severely limited at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium since arriving on loan from Premier League Brighton and could be set to benefit from Wells leaving the club in the next few months.

With only six substitute appearances to his name in the league, Mlakar could well see some more starting minutes come his way as Warburton seeks to fill the void left by the departure of his former striker.

Mlakar offers a combination of physicality and hold up play that could well get the best out of Messrs Eberechi Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel, particularly if the R's can improve their link up play in the final third.

The youngster will be hoping to make an impact over the next few weeks as he seeks to not only impress Warburton but also Graham Potter at Brighton ahead of next summer.

Jordan Hugill

The West Ham loanee has found his game time limited of late due to the presence of Wells, often finding himself having to make an impact off the bench for the R's.

With just eight goals in 26 Championship appearances, Hugill will now be hopeful of adding to his tally in the coming months as he assumes the role of being QPR's key man up top.

His future at West Ham is largely unclear after spending a few seasons out on loan and his future performances this term could determine where he ends up next summer.

Hugill should in theory thrive as a lone striker with the likes of Ilais Chair, Osayi-Samuel and Eze playing off him in an attacking midfield three.

Aramide Oteh

The 21-year-old could well benefit from the departure of Wells in the long term as it in theory opens up more of an opportunity for the striker to get more minutes when he returns for next season.

A pacey forward, Oteh has put in some bright performances for his loan club Bradford City despite not finding the net on too many occasions.

If the youngster can find some form in front of goal for the Bantams during the second half of the campaign, we could well see the front man being afforded another chance to impress for the first team next season.

Oteh previously gave QPR fans a taste of what there is to come back in the 2017/2018 season when he netted his first goal for the club against Burton Albion.
