After a disappointing season, there is a fair bit of positivity around Reading.

They pulled off a massive signing by getting in manager Jaap Stam, formerly of Manchester United, and he has started to bring in some of his own players, with six signings so far and there's still over a month of the transfer window remaining.

However, a lot of these players have never played in England so it remains to be seen how they will adapt.

They've had to deal with a few blows too, with Welsh Euro stars Hal Robson-Kanu and Chris Gunter leaving the club, after never really finding fourth gear during their time at the Madejski Stadium.

It's difficult to set a goal for the team without knowing just how well the signings will fit in, but a top half finish is what many Reading fans are going to be hoping for come May.

The Royals open up at home to Preston, before Plymouth visit in the EFL Cup the following Tuesday.

Here, in the opinion of FLW's Ryan Evans, are THREE players that Reading should bring in on loan before the visit of Preston on 6th August....

Tyler Blackett

As part of an injury crisis during the 2014-15 Premier League season, Blackett made 11 appearances for Louis van Gaal's side at both left-back and centre-back, making another 12 appearances for the Under-21 side.

He was shipped out to Celtic last season, but made a total of eight appearances between the four competitions that the club played in last season.

He's unlikely to get ahead of the likes of Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah in Jose Mourinho's plans for next season, before even considering the ex-Chelsea manager's record of not giving many youngsters a chance.

The ex-United still has strong ties to the club, so it's a real possibility that the club would agree to send some of their younger players there on loan.

Alex Pritchard

After being told by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino that he has not got a future at the North London club, Pritchard is now looking for a new place to play football.

He broke onto the scene following an amazing loan spell at Brentford two years ago, when the club finished in 5th place just a year after winning promotion to the division.

That season he scored 12 goals and created seven more from his 47 appearances in the league, and is a very highly rated talent.

The 23-year old had an injury-plagued spell at West Brom last season, so will be itching to get back into the game.

Reading could be the perfect club for that, as the player has proved he can perform at this level.

The Royals will be hoping for a top twelve spot next term, and to do so will have to score more - only Preston scored less than Reading last season and finished in the top half.

Robert Muric

Going by the trend that Reading seem to be buying a lot of Dutch players, Muric perhaps represents one that Stam should cast his eye over.

He will know the 20-year old from his three years in the Ajax setup, so this deal might actually have a higher chance of happening than you may think.

He broke into the Ajax first team last season after an incredible campaign with the Under-21s where he scored eight goals and claimed 12 assists from his 28 games, and even claimed a solitary assist in his two Eredivisie games.

The player has also been capped up to Under-19 level for Croatia, and operates mainly as a right-winger.

His ability is undoubted, and given the chance in the Reading first team, who knows what he could do.

Reading fans, what do you think? Would these three players improve your team? Are there any others you would add to this shortlist? Let us know in the comments box below!
