Sky Bet Championship club Ipswich Town are entering the final stages of their pre-season schedule, and manager Mick McCarthy will be looking to make the final additions to his squad ahead of the 2016/17 season.

The Tractor Boys have already added Paul Digby from Barnsley and Adam Webster from Portsmouth, with the departures from the club consisting of centre back pairing Matthew Clarke and Josh Yorwerth, who have left for Portsmouth and Crawley Town respectively.

Ipswich now have just a matter of weeks to put the final touches to their squad for the upcoming season and, with new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte stating that a number of players from his squad could be leaving Stamford Bridge before the transfer window is shut, could a potential signing for McCarthy lie within the Blues set-up?

FootballLeagueWorld writer Steve Day identifies THREE Chelsea players that Ipswich should look to sign before the transfer deadline arrives...

Nathaniel Chalobah

chalobah

The first name on this list is a player who is no stranger to the Championship.

Chalobah has made over 80 league appearances in the English second tier, having played for teams including Watford, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, and Reading in the division over the years.

It seems unlikely that Chalobah will be a first team regular in Conte's side.

He already has to compete with the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek before Conte has even added his own signings.

Ipswich could do with added some creativity into the middle of the park.

Cole Skuse, Giles Coke, Kevin Bru, Luke Hyam, and Jonathan Douglas are all competent players but, if McCarthy wants a side that is pushing for the promotion spots this season, he needs more quality in the engine room.

Isaiah Brown

Brown

Brown is a player that will be familiar to West Brom fans.

It is at the Hawthorns that the 19-year-old began his professional career before making the move to Stamford Bridge back in 2013. His versatility as a forward and a winger would make him a great attacking option for Ipswich.

There is still an unknown quantity element to Brown.

He has only scored one goal in his 26 appearances during his career. He failed to make the impact on the scoring front that he would have hoped for on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse Arnhem last season, but he is still highly-rated.

The hot prospect has already won some noteworthy trophies and awards, including the Victory Shield in 2012, the UEFA Under-17 European Championship in 2014, the FA Youth Cup in 2013/14 and 2014/15, and West Brom Academy Player of the Year for 2012/13.

The potential in this player is appeal enough.

Dominic Solanke

solanke

One of the most exciting striker prospects in British football right now comes in the form of 18-year-old Solanke.

The Basingstoke-born hit man is building himself a reputation across Europe for being a clinical finisher.

Solanke has yet to make a domestic appearance for Chelsea, with his solitary appearance for the club coming in the Champions League. However, he spent last season on loan with Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem and impressed by scoring seven goals in 25 league games.

The goals have dried up for McCarthy's side, with star striker Darryl Murphy struggling to find the net last season, and a player with the thrill factor of Solanke could be the energetic boost that the Tractor Boys need to propel themselves into a top six place.
