Sitting in 20th place, only two points away from the relegation zone, Nottingham Forest need some change to help turn their season around.

The takeover by a US Consortium led by John Jay Moores is imminent at the City Ground meaning there could be funds to spend for whoever is in charge, with the future of current boss Philippe Montanier uncertain.

Due to their poor league position, attracting quality and proven players in the Championship as well as fringe players from the Premier League could prove difficult for the Reds meaning they may chose to dip into League One to sign some quality to help push them up the table.

A number of players have caught the eye in League One this season and here are THREE that Nottingham Forest definitely must look to sign this month...

Josh Morris

The Scunthorpe United midfielder has had an exceptional season so far with 16 goals and nine assists to his name.

Graham Alexander's Scunthorpe side sit in second in League One, only four points off table toppers Sheffield United, and much of this has been down to the form of Morris.

If Morris continues his fine form then it is only a matter of time before he alerts a few Championship clubs, and Forest are a club who should definitely look to sign him.

Leonardo Da Silva Lopes

Only 18-years-old, the talented midfielder is certainly one to watch for the future.

Quick, direct, good feet and a threat going forward, Forest could certainly do with someone like Leonardo Da Silva Lopes as they look to climb the Championship table.

The Portuguese midfielder has been excellent for Peterborough United this season and although he will come at a price, he would be an exceptional signing for the Reds.

John Fleck

John Fleck has been a key player for Sheffield United this season and has the most assists in League One so far this season, with 10 to his name.

Signed from Coventry City in the summer, the 25-year-old has been at the heart of everything good for the Blades this season, and has been instrumental in their success so far this season.

Forest lack a holding midfielder like Fleck and the new owners should take a look at the Scot to help boost their midfield, and potentially replace Henri Lansbury who looks set to depart the City Ground.
