League One has produced many stars down the years who have gone on to bigger and better things, in either the Championship or even the Premier League - which to most is just a dream but for the lucky players is an accolade in itself.

The most recent rise of a star from the third-tier of English football has to be Dele Alli.

The attacking midfielder is a product of the controversial MK Dons' academy and moved onto top-flight outfit Tottenham Hotspur for a measly fee.

A lesser known and perhaps not as credible as Alli's rise, but Barnsley defender Alfie Mawson made a name for himself during the 2015/16 campaign whilst the Tykes were in League One.

The 22 year-old earned himself a move to Swansea City, not as admirable as north London it has to be admitted, after helping his side back to the Championship.

There are a number of examples I could have given you but those are just some of the most recent.

Anyway, there are several stars in League One and a lot of them could do a job in the division above.

Here's THREE Norwich City could do with signing this month to save their season......

Murray Wallace

At the minute, Neil's Norwich City could really do with a commanding centre-back who knows what they're doing.

Scunthorpe United's Murray Wallace is a perfect candidate.

The defender joined the Irons 12 months ago from Huddersfield Town after being surplus to requirements, and has been a prominent member of Graham Alexander's squad since he arrived back in March.

The 23-year-old has been an influential member of the team particularly this season, having feature on 34 occasions this term alone and his rise has been alongside Scunthorpe United's to the automatic promotion spots in League One, where they currently sit second behind Sheffield United.

Alex Neil has heavily relied on Sebastian Bassong last season but he's struggled this year and that means the Canaries should be on the search for a new defender in January - I think Murray Wallace is ready to step up and help guide Norwich back into the top-six.

Zach Clough

It is creativity that scores you goals in today's game.

A team needs plenty of playmakers to create assists and that's something, in my opinion, Norwich City are currently lacking.

Zach Clough appeared on the scene for Bolton Wanderers after making his debut for the Trotters against Wigan Athletic in 2015, he scored the winner in a 1-0 victory to send his side to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Clough was named League One Player of the Month for October having netted six goals, and has been one of the reasons why Bolton Wanderers have done so well this season.

His price will keep on going up and with the potential of becoming a Premier League player one day, Norwich City need to get their act together and sign him this month.

Lee Gregory

If there's any position on the pitch which the Canaries desperately need to strengthen, it's the attacking options they have at Carrow Road.

Millwall's Lee Gregory can guarantee goals with the striker having bagged 38 goals during his two-and-half-years at The Den.

He's also another example of the rise of a professional footballer.

Gregory earned a move to south-east London after scoring on 29 occasions during the 2013-14 campaign with Halifax Town in the National League, with his scoring ability continuing with his current club.

Whilst Lee Gregory is not young anymore, and hasn't proven it at Championship level, Alex Neil has to take a gamble to revive his squad's promotion push and if the money isn't there then this player is a perfect go-to forward to add to the current attack at Carrow Road.
