Swansea City have suffered a slight dip in form of late after making a highly impressive start to life under Steve Cooper's management this season.

The Liberty Stadium outfit went unbeaten throughout August which saw them climb to the Championship summit after their first six games of the campaign, but they have only managed to pick up one win in their last five league matches.

The club's home form has particularly suffered with Swansea having failed to win their last three games at the Liberty, meaning they are now without a win in front of their home fans since their 3-0 victory over Birmingham back in late August.

Swansea's last match before the international break saw them fall to an unexpected 2-1 defeat at home to a previously winless Stoke side, and this result could lead to Cooper making some changes to his side after the international break.

The former England U17 boss has persisted with a core group of players in his team selections so far, but there are also a number of players waiting in the wings and determined to make their mark on the side.

Here are three Swansea fringe players who must take their chance to impress in the coming weeks...

Tom Carroll

The midfielder made his long-awaited injury comeback during the Carabao Cup tie with Cambridge back in August, with Carroll having missed most of the second half of last season with an injury which forced him to return from his Aston Villa loan spell.

However, the impressive midfield partnership between Matt Grimes and Jay Fulton has prevented Carroll from establishing himself back in the Swansea side this term, and he has been confined to two substitute appearances in the league.

Carroll has the ability to excel in the Championship if he is handed a run of games in the side, and he must seize the opportunity if Cooper decides to pair the former Tottenham man with Swansea captain Grimes in the upcoming run of matches.

Ben Wilmot

Wilmot arrived in South Wales with a strong reputation after making his Watford first-team debut last term and also spending some time on loan at Udinese, but he has struggled to really make his mark at Swansea so far.

His appearances have been limited due to the excellent form of Joe Rodon and Mike van der Hoorn at the heart of defence, but Wilmot is a versatile player who can also operate in midfield if required.

Cooper will surely be looking to give Wilmot some more Championship minutes in the near future as he seeks to freshen up Swansea's side, so the England U21 international must take the chance to truly showcase his abilities when it comes.

Kristoffer Peterson

Cooper brought the Sweden international to the Liberty over the summer with the pair having previously worked together during their time in Liverpool's academy, but Peterson is yet to assert himself since making the move to his new club.

The former Heracles man has not featured in the league since the second game of the season, but he was a regular feature in Swansea's Carabao Cup campaign and scored his first goal during the 6-0 victory over Cambridge.

The Swansea boss will surely try to experiment with his wing options after the international break, particularly after Swansea's struggles in breaking down Reading and Stoke in their last two home matches. Peterson is surely not too far away from getting another chance in the side.
