Things are finally starting to click into place for Chris Wilder and his Sheffield United team, and they look very much like they will be up there come the end of the season.

A 4-0 win over Port Vale yesterday continued their excellent run in the league, and the fans have finally got some optimism back after what has been a miserable last few seasons.

Part of the reason United have done so well is their goal threat, with Billy Sharp, Matty Done, Leon Clarke, and Caolan Lavery the envy of many clubs in League One.

However, with Clarke being injured and Lavery still yet to really get going following his own injury issues, the Blades could well be in the hunt for a striker in the January transfer window to further enhance their promotion credentials.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor takes a look at TWO strikers Sheffield United could look to secure a deal for in January...

Omar Bogle

Omar Boglefg

It might seem an obvious choice to go for the top scorer in League Two, but Bogle seems to be a raw talent who is more than capable of playing at a higher level.

A relative unknown outside of Grimsby, Bogle has 9 goals already this season in what has been an excellent start to the campaign.

He wouldn't break the bank, and would have something to prove, exactly the sort of character Chris Wilder loves. Bogle could be an ideal signing and might just give the Blades a timely boost over the busy winter months and end of season run in.

Matty Taylor

Taylor

The Bristol Rovers man has not quite hit the heights of last season yet, but he still has 6 goals to his name already, something not to be sniffed at.

The Blades do already have a few smaller lads in the striking positions, but in Taylor, they would be getting someone who knows full well where the back of the net is.

Chris Wilder will be well aware of his talents following his stint in League Two last term, and he will no doubt be someone who is well and truly on the radar at Bramall Lane.

Blades fans, who would you like to see brought in? Would you take these two? Let us know in the comments!
