The takeover of Nottingham Forest is edging closer by the day meaning wholesale changes could be imminent at the City Ground.

Whether or not current boss Philippe Montanier is able to keep his job is yet to be seen, but with Gary Rowett reportedly keen to replace him at the City Ground, it means a new manager with new ideas could be about to set foot.

There is one thing for certain and that is the Reds need a boss who can help them climb the table and away from the relegation zone and signing some firepower in the January transfer window could be the perfect way to do this.

The Reds, on paper, already have a talented attacking arsenal with the likes of Britt Assombalonga, Nicklas Bendtner and Apostolos Vellios, though none of them are helping their side at the moment consistently enough to be able to fire them up the table.

A striker could therefore be targeted in the upcoming January window to add some more firepower up front.

So here are 2 strikers Nottingham Forest must attempt to seal a deal for this month...

Omar Bogle

The Reds have been favourite to sign Bogle for quite sometime after his 18 goals for Grimsby Town so far this season.

The 23-year-old's hold up play and ability to score all types of goals is something Forest would welcome at the moment and under new ownership they could have the funds to buy the in-demand forward.

Bogle is understood to be one of the Reds' key targets under the new owners and he would certainly be an impressive signing that would please the fans.

Patrick Bamford

Ever since moving from Forest as a youngster, Bamford has arguably failed to live up to his full potential.

The Chelsea forward, currently on loan with Burnley, has only showed signs of his potential in the Championship with Derby County and Middlesbrough and a move back to the Championship could be the best move for him.

If Bamford can restore some confidence there is no doubt that he could become one of the most dangerous strikers in the league and I am sure many Forest fans would welcome him back to the City Ground.
