As Nottingham Forest get over their 5-1 mauling by Norwich City from yesterday, news has emerged today that they could be lining up a move for Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic to be their next manager.

The former Watford manager has done a tremendous job with Fulham this term, leading them to within touching distance of a playoff place despite losing some of his top players in the summer.

Forest themselves are looking for some stability and a manager of proven ability to steady what has been a rocky ship this season to say the least. Philippe Montanier was given his marching orders after less than six months in charge, and owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has come under heaps of criticism from fans at the City Ground.

With Jokanovic the latest to be linked to the managerial hot seat for Forest, FLW writer Lee Connor has taken a look at TWO pros and TWO cons of Nottingham Forest appointing Slavisa Jokanovic as their new manager...

Pro 1 - He's a proven Championship manager

Forest need someone with some know how at this level, and Jokanovic fits that mould.

The job he has done at Fulham is an excellent one. Considering the losses of McCormack and Dembele in the summer, few thought Fulham would be certainties for relegation. However, he has turned it round, and they could well sneak sixth place with a good late run.

Con 1 - Will he stick around?

Forest need some stability, but Jokanovic doesn't have the best record in terms of hanging around for a long time at clubs.

The former Watford man has yet to spend more than two seasons with a club, so it does beg the question of if his appointment would be good in the long term for Forest.

Pro 2 - He has Europe wide contacts

Jokanovic's varied career has led him all around Europe, and with this will come a wealth of contacts and expertise about different leagues around the continent.

This could be a benefit to Forest as they look to add new players over the summer, and they could well pick up one or two bargains using the managers wide range of contacts and experience.

Con 2 - Do him and McCormack clash?

With a chance that Ross McCormack could sign for Forest permanently in the summer, it begs the question around if the Fulham manager and the striker see eye to eye.

McCormack was moved on this summer by Jokanovic, and Fulham have improved no end since his departure. It is an unanswered question, but is definitely something to ponder if Jokanovic and McCormack both made the move to the City Ground.
